Xcellerate IT and Link4 implement an electronic invoicing solution at DISER

The Australian Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources (DISER) has introduced an electronic invoicing platform to automate the processing of supplier invoices. Xcellerate IT technicians and automation experts supported the transformation, which uses Link4 technology.

Electronic invoicing is the exchange of invoices in an integrated electronic format that reduces the need for time and energy consuming paper printing – a major burden for most government agencies in Australia and around the world.

As part of the wider government investment in IT, the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) is encouraging various departments to adopt e-invoicing as a way to save money, prevent errors and free up human resources for higher value-added tasks. DISER is the latest agency to use new technology.

“We are proud to support this initiative by the ATO and are excited to see DISER go live with our e-invoicing solution,” said Howard Boretsky, managing director of Xcellerate IT, which specializes in e-invoicing support and other offerings in the field of technology. – controlled management of business processes and automation.

DISER’s transition is powered by Link4, a platform that connects different cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems through a secure connection. Link4 aims to provide simpler e-invoicing and offers a flexible payment solution for public procurement, as well as compliance with PEPPOL – a common set of specifications for cross-border procurement.

Through Link4, DISER electronic invoices are forwarded to an automated payment solution that verifies them before exporting to the ERP system. According to Boretsky, the new automated system can also handle other invoice formats – PDF, email and paper – making it a single window for all purchase payments.

According to Link4 CEO Robin Sands, DISER is a stellar example for organizations across Australia. “E-invoicing is a big win for all businesses and government agencies. This is a very positive move by DISER and we hope it will help everyone consider an e-invoicing strategy so they too can benefit from being part of the e-invoicing network.”

Elsewhere, DISER is also working with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) to develop the National Gas Infrastructure Plan – a subsidy scheme that the Morrison government sees as a driver of economic recovery.
