Global digital transformation company UST has launched its first innovation lab in Australia at Melbourne Connect.
Operating in Australia for more than seven years, UST has doubled down on its domestic ambitions with the launch of a new Innovation Lab – its eighth in the world.
“We have identified Australia as a growth region, so we are investing significantly in our lab, bringing in additional senior consultants and overall technical expertise to ensure we have the required local capabilities,” said Matthew McCormack, managing director for Australia and New Zealand. at UST.
Established more than two decades ago, UST is a consulting firm and service provider specializing in digital and technology. The company has more than 30,000 employees in 30 countries and is headquartered in the United States of America.
“The laboratory is more than just a center and complements its standard activities. It represents a way of working that puts people, not technology, at the center of innovation, which we will use to jointly address the challenges facing Australian organisations,” explained Agnes Misiurny, Director of Innovation Consulting at UST.
Other UST laboratories are the USA, Great Britain, India (two laboratories), Malaysia, Israel and Spain. “Our labs connect clients and our experts to drive digital innovation using proprietary frameworks, products and platforms and an ecosystem of experts including commercial and academic partners.”
In Melbourne, the lab was set up at the Melbourne Connect innovation precinct, Melbourne Connect, “to take advantage of the community created by the co-location of industry, research and start-ups,” Misiurny explained.
“We are delighted that UST has settled in Melbourne – it is another win for our growing technology sector and for jobs,” said Tim Pallas, Treasurer and Minister for Economic Development, Government of Victoria. “Global digital companies are coming to Victoria because we have the skilled workforce, education and training infrastructure and business environment they need to succeed.”
Earlier this year, peer Infosys also chose Melbourne as its hub for a new innovation lab.
