The Australian School of Applied Management (ASAM) has partnered with Nous Group to create a virtual learning program to help leaders navigate the unprecedented change faced by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Leaders face arguably the biggest business challenge of their lifetime and, unlike previous times of crisis, are now forced to lead in a digital and virtual fashion. The coronavirus outbreak has knocked billions out of Australia’s economic engine, throwing companies and entrepreneurs across all sectors into troubled waters.
Meanwhile, the government’s record $200 billion plus economic aid scheme is being rolled out, but a lockdown aimed at limiting contamination rates and the further spread of the disease means businesses are being forced to operate in ways never seen before.
According to experts from ASAM and management consultancy Nous Group, “there has never been a more urgent need to create an adaptive, collaborative and agile workforce”. Leaders are at the helm of this monumental task, and how they lead, adapt and respond during the COVID-19 crisis “will shape how their organizations deal with this crisis.”
Specially designed for the Covid-19 environment, their program helps leaders develop the ability to lead their people in this new virtual world, including shaping culture and virtual support of people, managing digital decision-making and building trust through clear and transparent communication.
This, in turn, will help leaders better manage and respond to the ongoing challenges facing the business, such as connecting with clients, keeping the supply chain running, and strategic planning for the post-Covid-19 era, as well as crisis management plans, including cost reduction and cash flow management / net working capital.
The ‘Leading through adversity’ virtual learning program consists of four 90-minute live webinar modules, supported by pre- and post-learning in small cohorts to encourage rich dialogue. During the program, leaders gain valuable insights that they can immediately put into practice and collaborate with other leaders facing similar challenges.
Key themes of the program include rapidly creating an agile and resilient response plan, dealing with a virtual and dispersed workforce, building trust and engagement while maintaining productivity, and preparing for the new future through strategic planning including pre-screening future-ready opportunities.
Expert insights and guidance are provided by a faculty of experts, including leaders who gained experience in crisis management during the 2008-2012 global financial crisis. Experts include Michael van Koesveld, Steve Lennon, Rachael Cronin, Tim Marney, Richard Bolt and Rod Camm, Kirsty Elderton and Tony Fiddes.
The virtual program can be delivered on either an accelerated (1 week) or staggered (4 weeks) timeline.
